Bill Gates made a surprise visit to the University of Michigan and spoke to 1,000 high school and college students about the tech world as he sees it.  Mike Wendland of the Detroit Free Press got to sit down with him along with a handful of other reporters and discuss the future of technology as Gates views it.  It is an interesting article worth reading.  Gates comments on the Tablet PC:

“Most people still don’t think the tablet will pay off, but I’m staking my reputation on it in a very big way.”

We’re right there with you, Bill.

  1. I saw Gates speak at Princeton and he also made some comment there to the effect of “in case I’m without my tablet (which would be rare for me but let’s say that happens)…”
