ExbootThere are a lot of portable USB hard drives on the market but the Fastora ExBoot has one big advantage.  You can back up your notebook or Tablet PC to the 40 GB ExBoot and if your internal hard drive fails you can set the external drive as the primary and then boot from it and continue about your business.  Once you replace your dead drive you restore it from the ExBoot and in just a few minutes have a complete system again.  The ExBoot backs up your system with the push of a single button which is about as easy as it gets, and the backup software that comes with the drive will automatically keep the backup set synchronized.  The drive is fast and performs both full and incremental backups in a flash.  $230.

  1. Any luck with this drive can boot the dead U750P from USB? if possible, it would be good buy over the expensive SONY iLink bootable CD/DVD drive.

  2. They are available online and through some catalogs for around $89 AR(after rebates)for the 40GB version and goes up from there. It looks great and there are no other bootdisks needed just the drive… :)

  3. I believe that this will ONLY work on computers that allow devices to boot from USB devices.

The Sony U does not allow this for Firewire-only optical drives, but does allow this for **some** USB floppy drives.

I do not think this will work on the U.
