Blog Search Sweepstakes

Wall Street Journal’s Vauhini Vara has a nice round up of blog search engines including Feedster, Technorati and Icerocket. I found it intriguing that she did not dig into the subject of what happens to these “Wannabe Googles” when the big three launch their blog search? Or perhaps how ineffective these search services really are! Talking about the big three, a little birdie told me that Yahoo RSS/Blog Search could go live (or beta, since Google had made beta the new black!) before baseball playoffs. Still trying to confirm this one!

[...] Within hours expect Google to launch Blog/RSS Search. The service is going likely to be available at Google BlogSearch and Search.Blogger.Com. The latter is a blogger specific version of blog search. This is a move that preempts Yahoo’s pending launch of RSS Search, which is supposed to come sometime before the end of the month. This I am pretty sure will turn the heat up on the likes of Icerocket. In Random Access Posted Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 9:58 PM PT [...]
