Cleveland goes WiFi

Cleveland just announced its city-wide Wi-Fi network, dubbed “Digital Communities.” Cleveland has teamed up with Intel, Cisco, Accela and others in an effort to narrow the city’s digital divide and boost social and economic development. In the early phase, Cleveland’s mobile inspection teams (such as building, zoning, fire and water) will be the first group to realize the immediate benefits that city-wide wi-fi can provide. Twelve departments, and more than 100 mobile inspectors will be using this network. Consumers, of course can enjoy the WiFi goodness as well.
