XTen Name Change Coming Soon

Om Malik, Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 12:06 AM PT Comments (3)

We all know and love the XTen Softphone. Well, we all might have to call it with some other name, because the company has been in a bit of legal tussle over the name with Xtend Communications Corp, a New York-based company. Xtend had filed a lawsuit against XTen back in April 2005, and basically the two companies have decided to resolve their issues. Part of the deal - XTen will have to change its name, though not its game. via SEC filings. Thanks Jake

So is this the reason they pulled XTen Pro with the last 2 weeks and are not offering it for sale anymore?

It would be nice if their support people would say it will be available in the future under a different name if that is the case. They just informed me that they don’t sell it anymore and I should try GizmoProject. NOT. It doesn’t do what I need it to do.
