BPL too little too late?

Forbes.com on recent developments in Broadband over powerline business “The problem is, the new momentum might be too little, too late. BPL may never become more than a niche technology limited to rural areas that can’t get Internet service over TV cables or DSL telephone lines.” The article points to the efforts of Atlanta-based utlity Southern Co., that admits the best it can do is use the technology to get better information about its electricity network.
