Update: Confirmed the news – the dealwith Reliance Infocomm is worth $7 million for 60,000 ports.

Veraz Networks, a major VoIP equipment provider is about to set a major deal in India for its media gateway products. The deal is said to be worth around $7 million, and the buyer of Veraz gear likely is Reliance Infocomm. One of the few softswitch survivors, Veraz has been able to carve out a niche for itself overseas and has made favorable impression on many in Asia. The deal, apparently comes at the expense of an incumbent, most like Cisco. More details later.
