Given the feisty debate about the future of Motorola’s iTunes phone, it is hard to believe anything. However, now comes word that the phone might actually make it to the market, thanks to some intense lobbying effort by Motorola. Mark Sue, an analyst with RBC Markets in his note to clients, Holy MOTO Batman, writes, “Motorola’s itunes phones are now ready to ship according to our sources, with Apple working out the final details with Cingular for revenue sharing.” Motorola, he believes had a rocking June quarter, and if iTunes phone comes out, the company will extend its hitting streak. Clearly, Motorola has a lot riding on the iTunes phone and would not simply let the project die. In related news, Sue notes that 3.5 million RAZR phones have sold. (I am guessing this is a world wide number.)

If this doesn’t register with the smartphone peeps I don’t know what will. Here’s a phone that’s more expensive than the Treo, et.al. that does practically nothing except voice and sells like hotcakes.
