Okay, as I wrote yesterday, the big switch to x86 is totally about the laptops. News.com in its report writes,

As for why Apple was making the shift, Jobs pointed both to past problems and to the PowerPC road map, which he said won’t deliver enough performance at the low-power usages needed for powerful notebooks.

read further, and you will see that the company is not stopping at laptops. More devices aka Tablet is in the works as well.

Jobs said Apple there are a lot of products it envisions for the coming years, but “we don’t know how to build them with the future PowerPC road map.”

    Maybe, better to say mobility in general. People want to see a lot more features in their iPods.
