Wireline, Wireless Convergence Helping Ericsson

The ongoing convergence of wireless and wireline networks, through technologies like IMS is going to help Ericsson in a big way. (This convergence has been a bit of a slow starter thus far!) Swedish wireless giant is quite bullish about its prospects. Peter Linder, Ericsson’s executive in charge of wireline business told Dow Jones News Wires that, “The goal is to strengthen our position in the wireline business.” Per Lindberg, an analyst with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, told Dow Jones that Ericsson’s wireline business to more than double to about $1 billion in about two to three years.
