Marconi teams up with Huawei

If you can’t beat them, might as well join them. After a stunning loss of credibility, not to mention dollars, Marconi has teamed up with Huawei. As you might remember, Marconi was left out of the British Telecom 21CN network business. The two companies have signed a mutual distribution agreement, where Marconi will sell data communications gear to its customers, while Huawei will sell Marconi’s microwave radio gear. This is a more of a win for Huawei, which now gets to use Marconi’s muscle to compete with the likes of Cisco, Juniper and Alcatel. longer term, is this pre-marital courtship of Marconi by the Chinese giant?
