First they went out and snagged British Telecom, and today comes news that Huawei is about to announce a major deal with Spain’s Telefonica is going to be buying its gear. Despite being dismissed as low end provider by most US equipment majors, Chinese upstart is marching through Europe like General Patton’s army. Marconi, clearly is the first victim in this Chinese march for telecom domination. In five years, Huawei’s European operations have gone from couple of people to a thousand, and the region now accounts for 7% of total Huawei sales. Also, The New Telecom World Order.
