BBC says that nearly 98% of Scotland including 20 rural and remote counties will have broadband. The Scottish Executive, sort of like US government had reached an agreement with British Telecom to make that happen. Scotland has invested nearly $200 million in bringing broadband to the boonies. The director of BT Scotland, Bob Downes, said: “Delivering broadband to all of Scotland has been at the heart of BT Scotland strategy in recent years. Maybe we can now order rare and deliciously wicked single malts from their makers directly instead of paying hideous premiums to importers.
