It seems I’ve run into more people who built their own PC in the last few months than I have in a long time which leads me to believe that some users are not happy until they can control every component of the system.  Components are readily available for such DIYers but a lot of research must be done to select just the right piece for your "puzzle".  ARS Tecnica always has good advice and their recently updated "Ars System Guide" is a great place to start for determining exactly what you want to put in your baby.  They break the components mini-review into the type of system you want to build, from the entry level PC to the "God Box".  Check it out if you’re considering rolling your own.
