April Fools articles ran rampant on April 1 as they usually do, in fact I ran one here on jkOnTheRun.  My intent with a spoof article like the one I wrote is to entertain and not to fool readers into thinking it’s a real story.  I am in the minority with that philosophy however, and a lot of spoof articles were published with the obvious intent to fool the readers.  One such article ran on The Mac Observer that reported Apple was adopting Windows Media for iTunes and the iPod.  The article reads like a genuine news item and it not only fooled Forbes, a very respected serious news organization into thinking it was real, but they even ran it in its entirety on their web site.  I’ll bet some editor is in deep trouble over this one.

  1. Now thats a successful April Fools joke. Hehe.
