Hard to believe that in America in 2005 there exist entire towns whose citizens have yet to make or receive their first telephone call. Rural Shaw, Louisiana, is one such a place. Where it it? Damn if I know, though I am told it is home to approximately 100 people. Next Monday, March 14, phone service comes to Shaw thanks to mobile carrier, Centennial Communications which is finally getting mobile service available in that town. Shaw residents will celebrate the ringing of the phone with a pig roast and a crawfish bake.
