Paris Hilton Hacked, Photos and Voice Mail Revealed Online

Om Malik — ever a source of juicy gossip and inside scoopage — has reported that Paris Hilton’s voice mail and T-Mobile Sidekick data has been cracked and publicly released on the Web…

Hi Om

While Paris is having a dreadful week, I don’t think the Sober K virus is the sort that affects mobiles.

Transmission of a mobile virus is very difficult actually, or as I wrote in the article Carlo was kind enough to quote in The Feature:

“The real story is that to catch a mobile virus you’d have to be as unlucky as to get struck by lightening on a clear day while standing in a rubber suit at the bottom of a swimming pool.

Here’s what you have to do to install one of these Bluetooth spread viruses:

1. Have a Symbian phone in the first place.
2. Activate Bluetooth, so your phone is discoverable.
3. When an unsolicited message appears, open it.
4. When your phone then asks you if you want to install a program that you haven’t just deliberately downloaded, press YES - three times. (Asking you three times is built in to Bluetooth standards precisely to avoid non-morons accidentally installing stuff).
5. Apply for life membership of your local Stupid Society.”
http://www.mobile-weblog.com/archives/the_bluetooth_viruses_are_coming_ahhhh.html

Cheers

Russell
www.mobile-weblog.com
