Mauricio Freitas of Geekzone has written a great article detailing how to enable the Always Up to Date (AUTD) functions of ActiveSync for those who use Exchange Server 2003.  AUTD is in essence a "push" capability that insures you will receive your messages as soon as they appear on the server, without requiring a synchronization with ActiveSync.  Mauricio makes an important point that while all Windows Mobile Phone Edition Pocket PCs and Smartphones are AUTD capable the Palm Treo 650 (and later) incorporate this capability as part of the technology they have licensed from Microsoft.
