Bookgem_closedBookgem_openUPC owners sometimes want to use the little computers with an external keyboard and one of the problems that has to be solved when doing so is how to hold the UPC in a viewable position.  I haven’t tried this myself but recently ran across a little device that just might solve this particular problem.  The BookGem is a small plastic device that is designed to hold books in a viewable position so you can read hands-free.  It looks to me that the BookGem would be the perfect foldable portable solution for holding UPCs the same way.  It even has a gentle clip system to hold the book/ UPC in position.  There is a detailed review of the BookGem with a lot of photos so you can see for yourself.  $20.

  1. Ha! I’d been thinking about “book easels” myself and recalled some made out of wire-like metal that were available all over the place for cheeeep several years ago. This looks nicer, although bulkier.

  2. Yeah I saw this on the Yahoo! Sony U group.. wonder how well it would work with the Sony U. Would love to see pics of it with the U, you should request a review unit James. ;)

I’d get one but I don’t use my UPC standing up that much though, usually use the pen when I’m mobile, plus my U case has a built-in stand: http://xigma.jp/en/04/type-u/flip-dx/index.html
