MuniWireless: Nebraska is set to join the Coalition of the Unwilling — unwilling to modernize, that is. Sascha Meinrath reports that Legislative Bill 157 would mean that even if no one in your area provides broadband service, “The commission shall not issue a certificate or a permit to an agency or political subdivision of the state.”

  1. A lot of the language in that bill is “Telecommunications Service.” According to the FCC, broadband is not telecommunications, so where’s the problem?
