Every time I have been waiting for a shipment from UPS I have wondered why you cannot track through a RSS feed.  This would make it simple to add to the feed reader and provide a status update upon demand.  An enterprising .NET developer named Jason (I don’t know his last name) has developed a simple way to track UPS via RSS.  He has written detailed instructions on his blog, SuperJason’s Personal Blog.  Read the comments too as some of them tell you how to do the same thing with FedEx shipments.  Aren’t user communities great?

  2. James,
This is fantastic! I checked it out with a recently delivered package. It works perfectly! I gotta hand this guy a lot of credit! I think this is a really cool way to get information on a package. In fact, it’s perfect for me, as I use FireFox with the SAGE RSS reader – right in my browser. So, I can get quick updates while I’m browsing without having to type the numbers! Most excellent!
