PC Magazine: readers are addicted to broadband, and more than 86 percent have broadband connections, up from 75 percent last year. They don’t like them, because they have to pay more. That is despite getting more speed and bandwidth. Cablevision, Road Runner and Cox rank the highest; and oh did I say that cable rules over DSL, though I have a sneaking suspicion if the hybrid fiber-copper model takes off, things could get pretty interesting. “With so little competition among providers in many regions, prices show few signs of dropping. You have no option but to pay,” write PC magazine editors.
