You must have read the news about Tony “RouteMan” Li returning to Cisco Systems and going to work at IOS – Internet Operating System group. Well, to follow-up, Cisco also bought up another one of its investments, BCN Systems for about $34 million in cash, and some incentives that could total up to about $122 million. BCN will become part of Cisco’s Routing Technology Group. Now the only conclusion I can draw from these two events, and recent rumors that CRS-1 is good but not great: Cisco is working hard to plug the problems with its IOS software, and is finding it necessary to go find outside help.
