Joseph DeRuvo was a man on a mission. The dyslexic wedding photographer is a long-time Mac OS X aficionado who spent years eyeing the utility of the Tablet PC.  He knew the form and function of a Tablet PC would make it much easier to do the things he needed to do in his work. He waited and waited for the rumors of an Apple Tablet PC to come true but finally he decided to take matters into his own hands.  So he made his own Mac Tablet PC- the iTablet.

The iTablet was built completely from off the shelf components including a passive digitizer and runs OS X.  Joseph has documented his project with some detailed photos and a component list for those who are interested.

  1. Wow, this is amazing. As a Tablet PC and Mac enthusiast, I have been hoping for Apple to take the plunge and launch something like this. I wish I had the guts and know-how to pull this off. Congrats to the author and thanks for the post here Jim.
