The Street.com is dissing TiVo, with a reason: The earnings announcement revealed that subscriber acquisition costs (SAC) almost doubled in the quarter, which is somewhat disheartening to those who believe the company can act as a stand-alone operation. The higher the SAC, the longer the payback period is to break even.
