Seagate_5gbSeagate has jumped into the Microdrive market, well sort of. Their new 5 GB “Portable Hard Drive” is actually a USB drive that can be used with any computer with a USB 2.0 port. I think it would have been more useful in a CF form that could work with PDAs and cameras but it is a good alternative to USB keychain type drives dut to its large capacity. The USB cable is only about 4 inches long so it will have to be very close to the attached computer. It is extremely small and light and comes in two sizes- a 2.5 GB that retails for $150 and the 5 GB model that runs about $200.(via Toms Hardware Guide)
