Ipod_photoThe appearance of the iPod Photo on the Apple online store today was the culmination of one of the worst kept secrets by Apple. Rumors have been flying hot and heavy for the last few weeks about the release of the iPod that adds a color screen for viewing photos. The iPod Photo is available from Apple in both 40 GB and 60 GB models for $469 and $563 respectively. The iPod Photo will sync and display album art for music downloaded from the iTunes Music Store. The only tidbit not leaked previously is the docking cable is now called the AV cable and the dock the AV dock. Apple claims the color iPod will get 15 hours on a single battery change. It will be interesting to hear user reports filing in if the color screen drains the battery significantly faster than the old boring iPod.
