ClustyGoing head to head with Google and other established search engines may seem like folly to some but the folks at Vivisimo think they can do it. Their Clusty (horrible name) search engine goes beta today and it has an interesting twist on searches. Vivisimo uses clustering technology developed at Carnegie Mellon that “clusters” search results on the fly into intelligent groupings. You can even do a blog search to limit your searches to blogs only. I’ve been playing with it and it’s definitely beta but the clustering gives interesting results, as you can see in the screen image I captured (click it to blow it up). I think Clusty is worth keeping an eye on to see how the site and search engine matures.
