From the “gadgets that actually make sense” category comes advance word about a Bluetooth-enabled motorcycle helmet that will be available soon. Momodesign, a manufacturer of artistic motorcycle helmets, announced a Bluetooth helmet will be available early next year. The HS830 Bluetooth Helmet Headset will allow riders to make and receive phone calls from their cell phones without having to handle the phone at all. Most of the important functions, answering and ending calls, redialing, voice dialing and setting the volume, can be done from the cover of the helmet through the Bluetooth wireless connection.A noise-reducing microphone minimizes traffic and wind noise. The headset module can be quickly detached from the helmet and hung around a person’s neck without interrupting the call. Great idea but no word on pricing yet.

  1. A great gadget for motorists wanting to keep in touch with their close ones without taking their hands off the motorcycle. Just be sure to take care though, as talking to someone on the phone reduces concentration on the road.
