One thing always missing from articles about cellular data is the ** upload ** data rate.  Everyone focuses on the download speed.

CDMA 1xRTT and 1xEv-DO both have download speeds of 40K bps - 60K bps.

If you can get DSL or a cable modem, there&#039;s no way you should get 1xEV-DO as a replacement.

I&#039;ve been using 1xRTT and 1xEV-DO,  When there&#039;s no dialup or you have a lot of patience, 1xRTT is usable, especially for e-mail (large files notwithstanding).  1xEV-DO is much better and the browsing experience and downloading large files actually isn&#039;t bad as at -- most of the time.]]></description>
