Last week I posted, Should Tellabs call of its deal with AFC? Light Reading has an update today, and they essentially say that the deal will be done, at the original price. They quote Timm Bechter of Legg Mason and Albert Lin of American Technology Research as saying that in the end, AFC will be part of Tellabs. “Both companies need this deal,” Lin told Light Reading. “I think it is a merger for two companies facing a troubled market,” he says. “It is better for them to get together than go it alone. But it needs to be done, because the alternative is worse”
