Wireless IQ: Nextel gave a boost to its fixed infrastructure and wireless service in coastal Georgia and doubled the coverage to include include Savannah, Ft. Stewart, Kings Base, Brunswick, Statesboro, Glynn County, Chatham County, St. Simons Island and Sea Island. As you may know, this is part of Nextel’s Flarion experiment.

  1. Hi Om,
    I think you might be mistaken – this is not a part of the Flarion trial that is underway in the Research-Triangle Park area.
    The above infrastructure changes are to the existing iDEN network.
    The Flarion trial in NC is purely for data services and is not for voice services(such as PTT, Direct Connect. etc.)
