We just had a fire in our oven. Not a little flameup- this was a full fledged fire that totally engulfed the oven and filled our entire house with smoke. We don’t even own a fire extinguisher and it was looking bleak until my very smart wife Sheri remembered that salt puts out grease fires. The fortunate side to this is she just bought a brand new cannister of salt yesterday. One minute of throwing salt on the fire and it was out.I’m going to buy fire extinguishers today at Home Depot. The interesting thing is not a single smoke detector went off in the house.

  2. I have a fire extinguisher…but it just dawned on me….I don’t know how it works! Will throwing a full fire extinguisher on top of a fire, put it out? LOL

  5. The instructions on how to start a fire? Why would anyone need instructions for that?
