conccompA few weeks ago the New York Philharmonic sent an email to members of the Philharmonic family that announced their “Concert Companion” program. It detailed the plan of allowing concertgoers the chance to check out an iPAQ 4150 for $10 with wireless capability. The lucky recipients will receive real time listening notes of interest throughout the performance. The technology will be tested during the final concert of the Charles Ives Festival on May 29 and hopefully it will become a regular feature. They only have 75 devices available and it looks like all available devices have been pre-registered already as their link is closed. I’d be interested in hearing from anyone lucky enough to try this out and hear your thoughts on the enhanced experience.
