Lightreading, the industry must read for the networking types has come out with its list of top ten private companies in the networking space. Its an interesting list, though some of the names have been included because of sheer starpower, and not for their real business. Like Calix Networks, Turin Networks, and Huawei which is nothing but a Chinese-govt subsidized rip-off artist. Other picks are pretty stellar actually. So which are the most obvious omissions: World WIde Packets and Cedar Point Communications, for starters. I would love to throw in Starent in there, but they are more wireless than wired networks, so I guess they would be on UnStrung’s list of top ten.
