Any cable company thinking about going digital and broadband, well don’t think too long. Cox Communications which has been on the cutting edge of broadband, VoIP and other digital technologies over cable is seeing its sales zoom faster than the downloads off the SoulSeek servers. Cox beat on revenues driven by High Speed Internet, Digital, and Telephony, this morning. Cox is the exact opposite of Comcast and has proved that if you stick to your cable knitting, well things are going to eventually get better and better.

bq. While basic subscriber additions slowed this quarter, the value provided to them was higher: more digital adds (marginally up), more Internet adds (up 4.5%), and more telephony (up 23%). Is it working? Yes! Revenue growth was up 13% and expense control helped OCF to grow 18%. The cable model is working. (Marquis Investment Research)
