A curious transaction…CNET Networks has acquired technology content specialist EDventure Holdings, including the company’s array of IT industry publications and conferences.

EDventure–founded by Esther Dyson–is best known for its monthly magazine, Release 1.0, and its long-running annual business summit, PC Forum.

Both Dyson, EDventure’s chair, and Daphne Kis, the company’s chief CEO, will join CNET…Dyson will become editor at large of CNET’s Business Technology Division. CNET said it would add EDventure’s subscription-based publications to its existing business technology brands…

CBS MarketWatch: “We’re not saying [what newsletter plans are being considered] at this point,” said Dyson, in an interview with CBS MarketWatch. Hmm…wonder where she got that belief from?
