The Cisco Effect?

Barron’s Bill Alpert believes that a good report from Cisco Systems could perk-up the already hot technology stocks even further. The good news from Cisco is quite relative actually - most expect double digit revenue growth from the company, which for a $20 billion in sales company is quite amazing. However if your stock is trading at 33 times next year’s earnings, then that is not such a good thing. In recent quarters however Cisco has reported single digit growth. No surprise then, that most of us are watching Cisco’s February 3rd earnings release. For some odd reason, Alpert makes a reference to IPv6 at the very end of the article, just to look geeky I suppose. He talks about Verio implementing IPv6 but I don’t get it - really. Doesn’t Verio buy from Juniper? Never mind.
