Yahoo’s e-book customers are now being redirected to the eBook Express site owned by OverDrive.

Blackmark Online, which first reported it, says that it is not a huge deal, Yahoo always expected ebooks to sell through brute force, and rarely updated the site, but with this handover, a very odd thing has happened. Overdrive, which for years touted itself as a “back-end” supplier, is now competing directly with its retail customers, as well as major publishing partners like HarperCollins and Random House to sell content.
