One of the woefully underreported benefits to the FCC’s decision to force the cellphone companies to let customers take their number with them when the switch carriers is that phone number portability doesn’t just apply to cellphones, beginning November 24th you’ll also be able to switch a number from a landline to a cellphone, and vice versa.
