Cisco Charlie going to Broadcom?

This might come as a surprise to most: Charlie Giancarlo, a senior vice president at Cisco Systems is rumored to be jumping ship to join Broadcom as com-chip makers’ next chief executive officer. Giancarlo is likely to replace Henry Nicholas who resigned earlier this year. These assertions were made by US Bancorp Piper Jaffary analyst Ashok Kumar in his note this morning. Giancarlo’s marketing and partnership skills are a likely bonus for Broadcom, which has so far pursued a strategy that alternates between aggressive and secretive.
