AOL and Electronic Arts announced today that AOL’s subscribers will get free access to premium online games that EA’s Pogo division otherwise provides for subscription fees. It follows up on EA’s announcement of its Club Pogo paid-game-services site last week and a two-year extension of its alliance with AOL.

If non-AOL players access EA’s Club Pogo games and services from the Web, they have to pay $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. But AOL members who use the newest 9.0 version of AOL can get free access to the five Club Pogo games for free, plus they can get discounts on other paid services.
