Greed, thy name is Vikram Seth

Anyone who read An Equal Music, (and there are not many) would certainly agree, that anything Vikram Seth writes is not worth an initial bid of £1.5 million. Still the writer of the laborious and (to me) boring A Suitable Boy is seeking that much money for a “memoir about his great uncle.” So far no bidders but looks like HarperCollins might come in with a big money offer. Does Rupert know that some of his editors are literally throwing away is hard earned money.
