Chinese Internet company Sohu quadrupled revenues in the second quarter as it swung to profit from a loss a year ago.

Profits: $7.5 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $870,000 or 2 cents per share last year.

Revenues: jumped 216 percent to $19.3 million from the year-ago level of $6.1 million.

The company also plans to offer about $65 million in zero coupon convertible senior notes due 2023, the proceeds of which are slated for general corporate purposes, possibly including investments and acquisitions, according to a company statement.
