An interesting mobile content startup called Celecast is launching live audio broadcasts of over 650 NCAA Division 1-A college football games, along with SMS updates/alerts. This will be followed by college basketball commentary as well…the service is being offered with technology from XSVoice, a wireless application platform company.

The “Celecast Collegiate SeasonTicket“, the football subscription service is priced at $89.95, and will be available starting mid-July The service provides mobile phone users with unlimited access to the game commentary, including the pre-game, live event broadcast, and post-game from the school’s radio affiliates. Of course, the user can listen the game through headphones, aloud over a speakerphone, or through the stereo speakers at home or in a car.

RealNetworks has been doing a similar service for Major League Baseball games…also, Boston Web-based radiocaster RadioStorm is now delivering its stream to cell phones, through CDN company StreamGuys‘ new line of wireless streaming solutions. See the story done on them last week.
