An interesting experiment is about to be launched in UK: an alternative talent search is to be launched online at Me-Me-Me.net, starting June 30. The competition runs over nine weeks across three heats and one final. Users can watch 90-second video clips of eight performers per heat and the final will feature the two with the highest number of votes per heat, as well as two wild card performers.
Interestingly, users pay £1 to vote for their favourite contestant via a micropayment system, developed by Metacharge, and in return are rewarded with extra audition material, outtakes and interviews. The winner of the talent search gets half the money they have generated online.
Users can also enter into a free competition to walk away with the same amount of money as that was paid to the winner of the talent search.
Me-Me-Me.net was created by Warwick Worldwide, a digital media production company based in UK.
