RealNetworks announced an internal restructuring yesterday, positioning itself to plunge deeper into the media-subscription business in competition with Yahoo. The company will no longer divide itself into separate consumer and systems software businesses. Starting today, the company will instead have separate teams, each with its own specialists, focused on three areas: broadband carriers, mobile carriers and international development. Other teams will have a more traditional focus on sales, marketing and research and development.
