Brobeck gone, a rebound lurks around the corner

The New York Times :: Ironic as it may sound, the closing of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, a San Francisco Law firm and a Bay Area institution for over 77 years, is the first bit of good news for the technomy. I personally believe that the law firms are the first one into the boom and last ones out of the boom. This means that the rationalization which has been going on in Silicon Valley for almost three years has spread to services business. I need to see one more piece of evidence - bursting of the housing bubble - and we will be ready for a rebound. When that happens, and my guess is towards end of this year, it will indeed be good news for a lot of my friends who are currently members of the post-millenium cafe society!
