Press O for Orgasm–Audio Erotica Goes Wireless: This one is interesting (perhaps I should start an “adult paid content” category, though tracking it would be, well, difficult and expensive!): Venetian Dreams, an online adult audio content provider, has launched “Screw Talk”, a wireless streaming adult content service. Offering details are a bit gory, so I’ll leave that to imagination, but on the technical side, it would be interesting to see how the wireless adult market unfolds. Already, Playboy and Private Media Group have separate picture-based services for the wireless market.

To access the Srew Talk service, mobile users must use their Wireless Web service, and are connected to the live or on-demand audio. Come to think of it, this is phone sex, but has a micro-payment element to it, as opposed to guesswork. Here’s the company’s attempt at PR and reasons why it think wireless adult content market will, well, rise:

a.. Screwtalk depends on aural rather than visual impact.

b.. Unlike phone sex, it works within a micro-payment environment.

c.. Consumers have proven they’re willing to pay for adult content. Unlike news and sports, the adult industry has never had to rely on being advertiser supported.

d.. There’s synergy between adult audio and the wireless marketplace. Our prime customers are men between the ages of 30 and 55.

e.. The primary selling point for mobile technology is instant gratification. There are few things more instantly gratifying than sex.

f.. The wireless carriers are interested. Publicly traded companies including hoteliers, satellite and cable TV including AT&T are already profiting from the adult industry.

Enough.
