(second item): Online subscription services do open some doors, as opposed to critics who have been crying foul about closing doors on the wider audience: Gallup Organization will launch a consumer subscription service Jan. 1, 2003. The $95 a year service, called Tuesday Briefing and available at Gallup.com, will give subscribers access to Gallup’s latest findings and analysis. It marks the first time in the company’s 68-year history that the public will have direct access to the firm’s data. Subscribers will also get access to The Gallup Brain, an archive containing responses to more than 125,000 public opinion questions asked by the firm since its inception in 1935.
